Throughout its eight tracks, Bowie delves into warmer, more rhythmic sounds, moving away from the glam rock of his previous works. Tracks like "Young Americans" and "Win" reflect his fascination with African-American culture and display a social sensitivity unusual in his discography up to that point.

Influenced by the Philly Sound, Bowie reinvented his sound and aesthetics with the character The Gouster, reflecting a radical artistic transformation. This commemorative edition has been remastered from the original tapes at 192 kHz and cut at half speed for vinyl, offering superior sonic fidelity.
