El viaje inútil – Camila Sosa Villada
TUSQUETS
An intense and unforgettable autobiographical account, with the references and keys to the writing of Cabello Sosa, the new Latin American literary hurricane.
With rage and poetry, this is the stark account of his own life Cabello Sosa Villada, from her origins, from her painful childhood—a clandestine woman's body whipped by her father's alcoholic fury—from her experience as a transvestite who knows prostitution, but also success in the theater, and from this the practice of writing, which can only be radical, intense, in search of an impossible reparation:
«I write so that a story can be known. The story of my transvestism, of my family, of my childhood sadness, of all that premature sadness that was my family, my father's alcoholism, my mother's shortcomings. The moves that separated me forever from my friends, from the atmosphere of my rooms, from the habits of backyards, from the safety of a hiding place. I write to be able to share the images that populated my childhood. Also to share my family's struggle against poverty, a struggle that devastated us and sickened us with resentment, heartbreak, and indifference, everyone against everyone.»
