La novia de Sandro
All the emotional intensity of the author of Las malas in a book of poems that has been a sensation in Argentina.
In Las novias de Sandro, Camila Sosa Villada transfers all the emotional intensity of Las malas to the realm of poetry. Through a poetic travesti voice that loves, hates, desires, and is desired, the book explores the mysteries of love, the body, and memory with a sensory eroticism that almost no one manages to put into words.
The poems blend joy and sorrow in every body that appears: lovers who leave, the mother rented to another family, the fatigue of the father who fights against poverty, friends who have died, the beloved of the lover. Among images of blood, plants, fireflies, and high heels, Sosa Villada builds an intimate mythology where magic coexists with violence, and fragility becomes strength.
Celebrated as a sensation in Argentina, Las novias de Sandro confirms Camila Sosa Villada as an author capable of bringing the travesti experience, desire, and grief to a poetic language that is wild and delicate at the same time. A book of poems that leaves a mark on any reader who dares to enter its fierce beauty.
