The reissue of "Ultrasónica," the Piratas album recorded in 2001 at the French studio du manoir and produced by Juan Luis Giménez, Vicente Sabater, and the band itself, provided the group with an opportunity to realize their enormous potential before a wider audience. The group, led by Iván Ferreiro and Fon Román, was in a state of grace and distinguished itself with its most multifaceted musical work. Songs like "El equilibrio es imposible," "jugar con los coches," "caótico neutral," and, above all, "años 80s" (80s) opened the door for them to maintain their creative independence without renouncing mass audiences. Neither alternative enough for the indie scene nor commercial enough for the mainstream charts, Piratas found their own way to reach thousands of fans who didn't need to be labeled.
