Love Is in the Air is one of the great classics of international disco pop and the song that established the global career of John Paul Young. Written and produced by Harry Vanda and George Young, the song was released in 1977 for the international market and in 1978 in Australia, quickly becoming one of the most recognizable anthems of late 1970s pop.
This vinyl edition brings back the original single and includes on its B-side the Love Is in the Air (Ballroom Mix) version, a mix that gained a new cultural dimension after being used in the film Strictly Ballroom by Baz Luhrmann.
The scarcity of reissues of this version since the early 1990s has helped this release remain a particularly cherished edition within the discography of John Paul Young.
