On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Dile al Sol, in 2023 the debut album of La Oreja de Van Gogh was released on vinyl, the record that marked the beginning of their career and placed them on the Spanish music scene as one of the breakthrough bands of the late nineties.
Originally released in 1998, Dile al Sol sold over 900,000 copies worldwide, topped the sales charts in Spain for ten weeks, and stayed thirty weeks among the top ten best-selling albums in the country. A debut with an immediate impact that defined the group’s initial sound and their connection with the general public.
The vinyl includes all the original tracks from the album, from “El 28”, the first single and one of the band’s most representative songs during the following decade, to “Soñaré”, the second single and closing track with which they reached number one on the Spanish charts for the first time. The repertoire is completed with songs that became classics of their discography such as “Cuéntame al oído”, “Dile al Sol”, and “Qué puedo pedir”.
The success of the album sparked a national tour of over one hundred concerts, with performances before more than one million people, establishing La Oreja de Van Gogh as one of the key names in Spanish pop since their debut.
