Tesis sobre una domesticación – Camila Sosa Villada
TUSQUETS
"A single transvestite is enough to undermine the foundations of a house, unravel the bonds of an engagement, break a promise, and ruin a life." The actress narrates Thesis on domestication He carries that certainty with him as he moves among invisible pacts, overflowing desires, and bonds that no longer know how to sustain themselves.
At the heart of the novel is a bourgeois family attempting to cling to a peaceful life, yet surrounded by inner turmoil and buried guilt. Eroticism and violence permeate their relationships, though a stubborn tenderness always emerges, refusing to fade. Domestication, here, relates as much to the body and desire as to the home, the couple, and the dictates of normalcy.
Wild and moving, Thesis on domestication confirms Cabello Sosa Villada emerges as a writer capable of pushing realism to its limits and staging the transvestite experience within the heart of the family. With intense and highly visual prose, the novel shows how this search for fleeting moments of happiness is born from a defeat that was predetermined from the start.
