The long-awaited return of Miguel Aguerralde to thriller and the comeback of his most beloved character, Matt el Rojo.

A wave of disappearances shakes the island of Gran Canaria. The victims vanish without a trace: no footprints, no clues, no thread to follow. They simply disappear and are never seen again.

Somewhere there is a place where nightmares are born. It is real, although hidden, and no one would want to open their eyes there. Matt el Rojo, the investigator created by Miguel Aguerralde, has only a few hours to find that place before it’s too late.

In El hotel de los juguetes rotos the author returns to thriller and brings back his most iconic character to face a high-stakes investigation, full of tension, twists, and atmosphere. The hotel in the title, halfway between a physical setting and a collective nightmare, becomes the center of a case that combines classic noir, psychological horror, and page-turner pace. The novel keeps the reader on edge until the last page and confirms Aguerralde as one of the strongest voices in noir set in the islands.

Dare to cross the threshold and enter the hotel of broken toys. Leaving there may no longer depend only on you.
